Guruphiliac: Deeksha Breeds Greed

Deeksha Breeds Greed

File under: Satscams

As the little piggy and his moo cow crow over the millions of dollars they collect from their duped deeksha victims (some of which gets laundered through their son's Hollywood movie production company), others have started to jump on the same flimflamming bandwagon. Case in point: Austin, Texas-based Lola Jones:
Those of you who have received Divine Openings from me know that it is a transfer of Divine Grace directly from Divine Source, enlightenment initiation combined with groundbreaking teachings and coaching. It is rapid change: profound, permanent, life altering..... Did I mention blissful? Endless seeking, healing, and processing is replaced by LIVING! Goodbye to suffering, working too hard, "working on yourself" (finally), and hello to expanding into who you really are .... To enjoying, creating, loving, being free, and making a huge difference for all those you touch, professionally or personally. It heals on all levels, including the physical. Sets relationships right and increases prosperity.
Step right up and buy the idea that you can cure all that ails anyone – mentally, physically, and of course, spiritually!

Jones is the modern version of an old-timey snake oil salesman, with the additional distinction of also being a snake oil salesman breeder. A chip off the old "rock" as it were, but one who is striking out on her own and seeks to steer her ex-master's ill-gotten gains and those of his main minion in town, Crazy William Cooper, into her own pocketbook:
If you need to, you can use a credit card, and you register by paying in full [$1750], or making a deposit of $520. I want to make it doable and also honor the tremendous value of what you will receive. It costs $8000 to go to India (tuition is $5500) and this is worth as much as that and more, as you receive a much more thorough system to teach, and you're not tied to any teacher, movement, limitations, or requirements.
Become your own flimflammer for less than $2000! That's over half off the regular fee!

Suddenly, the idea of catching a ride into town on the front bumper (and grill) of a speeding big-rig truck by jumping off the freeway overpass appeals greatly to us. The deeksha virus has broken free of its Oneness Movement cesspool and is adrift in the New Age™ marketplace, where any knucklehead with a white robe can be an enlightened master, one able to solve any problem in existence by laying-on hands and pretending that something is happening other than dummies being separated from their money.

We call that a sign of the end times. Heaven, please help us.

Seriously, the complete lack of discrimination or even common sense in “spiritual culture” is just staggering. The Kalki thing is just the most overstated case in point. Now he’s having puppies. I don’t know who is more painfully naïve: this woman here for thinking she is doing anything other than selling people a pointless fantasy, or the folks who would actually step on board with her thinking they could actually get something other than a pointless fantasy.

This kalki scam really is ingenious. He has spiritual people pegged and gives them exactly what they really want (to spiritually accessorize their self image and feel special and privileged) while promising them what they pretend to want (liberation and enlightenment).

Just heard that another wannabe has climbed on the deeksha wagon: Sai Ma Lakshmi Devi (with a half-dozen honorifics before and after the above name). This lady has previously reworked Siddha Yoga and the Ascended Master Teachings for her own benefit. Now she's offering "Ananda Jyotir Diksha" for a bargain price: her "master teachers" are touring the US, giving deeksha AND provider training for a fee of $125. This is only the beginning of the next wave of quasi-Hindu flimflam... shaktipat repackaged for the new millennium.

She's that horse faced one that we've already discussed and dismissed. If I'm gonna worship a woman she can't have a horse face. I have my standards.

this is what he says the money is for, for making a golden city and a golden temple that would enlighten the whole world... but the fact is that there are just a few workers there trying to build that which they justify the high cost of the courses,.... and so they need to slow down the construction,... otherwise there would be no reason for charging what they charge.
and meanwhile they are more busy in bringing bollywood to hollywood...

That has always been true; anyone can call themselves anything and with good lighting, the right clothes and manipulative music, someone—often many someones—will bite. (Sai Ma is a perfect example.)

But here is a guaranteed way to get enlightened: simply destroy your hippocampus! Amnesia is the ultimate in "present moment awareness." Not only do amnesiacs have no past, they can't imagine a future.

Oxygen-deprivation Deeksha anyone?

Definitely not in any “I am a vehicle of the grace of Kalki Bhagavan, Avatar of our age and a leading light in the vanguard of the new age “ kinda sense, no. And not in any other so called “spiritual” sense either. As far as I’m concerned feeling spiritually special, or feeling “spiritual” at all is a BIG red light that says “you’re fooling yourself.” That kind of spirituality is just an ego trip pure and simple.

And no, Jody is a guy with a blog.

What are those brown balls of leghium? Semblance might want some.

the dasas and acharya anandagiri said that leghium was an ancient component of some powerful plants given to us to purify the koshas so diksha energy could flow easealy

then, I went to the 10 day deepening process and there was some scary atmosphere to me, guards wearing guns in the entry of golden city 2, the place we where locked in for the process. Golden Cidy is becoming very Golden and it has to be guarded now. Hopefully there is someone that was in Satyaloka ashram back in 1999, at that time things appear so true and really spiritual, and the Dasas where the most beautiful people you could ever meet, and Acharya Samadarshini was someone so nice and unique... hope she is stil the same...

then, they invented the descent of any divinity conciousness (I missed that processes, luckuly)whichever is well known to anyone and the funny thing was that everybody coud assure you they had some sort of oneness with krishna, christ, kalki, and many others awailable in the speeches of the dasas. The dasas made a great work and conviced people they truely were having such experiences. They have lots of techniques to make you believe whatever they want... I stil don´t understand the purpose of this crazyness (is it all about money?)

I´m a totally dissapointed diksha giver and I´m out of all this crazyness since some months now. I used to give diksha because I was sure this work could do some diference as it did for me... but what it did for me didn´t last more than a year, after that everything in my life went in the path of huge suffering because I lost family, house and myself...depresion and suicide thoughts where all that I could think of. today I have new opportunities and my feet are well grounded. Not to say the huge amount of money I spent going to india four times, and from south america it is much more expeensive...

to have the leghium, previous diksha, we had to fast all day long. In one of that days, after eating that thing I got very, very sick and couln´t move at all, I was stick to the flor for many hours, after that my dasa took me to my room and put me to sleep in my bed. During that time I was having a lot of distorted perceptions of myself and the sorroundings, those "experiences" the dasas said were mistycal experiencies which ammabhagavan had gave to me as a great gift... ???

anon said: to have the leghium, previous diksha, we had to fast all day long.

Did they give you leghium every time before you got deekshas? I went to deeksha a bunch of times and the givers never said anything about this. Is leghium a halucinogenic?

At 1/20/2007 7:24 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

and I could stil be talking of so many things I have lived during my relationship with ammabhagavan and their monks and nuns (dasas) which took almost 9 years. At first there was a very close relationship with Bhagavan and his dasas and retreats were for free, but as long as the movement went growing and masses of western people start going there paying huge amounts of money things change a lot. In south america there is less amount of people who can afford the cost of the processes which means over here we are a little bit safer to that great illusion and lies of all sorts and most of all the diksha thing is getting dead more and more, luckuly.

Something else, the guy who is in front of all Bhagavan´s businesses is his son Krishna who lives in USA together with Madhu dasaji, an expert in new technology of any kind, they are in charge of Kosmic Studios and Kosmic Music Inc.

yes, they gave me leghium every time before I had diksha. Don´t know if Leghium is an halucinogen but I would say it is. Leghium was stopped since october 2004, before that they gave it in every process, starting from march or abril same year.

You mean the 21 day retreats were originally for free? Do you know why he chose the exhorbitant amount of $5500.? I can understand wealthy people giving that as a donation if they thought they really got something out of the experience, but to charge every one that amount is absurd.

I googled leghium on the internet and nothing came up. has anyone heard of this stuff?

Imagine, Jesus charging $5500. shekels for the teaching of the laying on of hands. Come ye to the kingdom of heaven for a bargain price! Inherit the world to come, and all you ever wanted with this simple technique!
That's post modern spiritual materialism for ya.

I found a good article about spiritual materialism for any one interested. Alexander Shaumyan quotes Kobutsu malone:
"You see, what is really needed is not what is offered for sale, advertised for money and acquired through materialistic gain. What is needed, is to look at our motivations, to examine our present condition, to study our history to learn about how we function. We can do none of this if we are involved in looking outside ourselves for answers, if we are looking for "higher" states of consciousness.

What is a "higher" state of consciousness? Higher that what? We are not even aware of our present state of mind other than that we are in pain, feel a lack and want to feel complete. We behave as if spoiled children who want their situation "fixed" and taken care of right away. We have not really looked at ourselves, we have not deeply examined the nature of our feelings, the root causes of those feelings, the social structure, language and culture that has produced our world views. In short we are so busy wanting to escape that we have not taken the time to understand the nature of our imprisonment.
"What sense does it make to trade one jail cell for another, when the prison walls are in reality our own forgotten creation?"

You can read the rest of K. Malone's excellent article by going to this link

More:
"But spirituality that you can buy is a fake spirituality. It lulls you into another state of spiritual sleep--the same type of sleep that is experienced by those who listen to a preacher in a church. True spirituality is about selflessness, genuineness and concern for others. It's about being aware of who you are and the culture you live in. Spirituality begins with asking questions about who we are and our purpose in the world. It's not about some books or rituals. It's about a genuine search for meaning. The process of awakening is about facing reality, not escaping from it. When I hear people talk about "higher consciousness", I see a desire to escape from reality. It's like renting some movie to watch, so as to escape the boredom and banality of everyday life. This is more about escapism, and has little to do with any search for meaning. And there will always be people to provide meaning for you, either by selling you things or by trying to get you to join their group."

Sounds just like siddha yoga's ashram in India..the armed guards at the front..preventing "undesirables" from entering (including "banned" devotees). Maybe it's just an "Indian tradtion"...lol!

"leghium" appears to be not a substance, but a method of processing herbal remedies in siddha and nature cure medicine, perhaps as a paste (as opposed to in powder form or suspended in oil which are the other methods its mentioned in connection with on various sites).

I believe, Bhagavan's western closest disciple for 13 years Freddy Nielsen has a lot to do with how the whole thing took shape. He liokes the american way of the New Age, and thought charging high would make people apreciate more the whole thing....
I also heard that the swedish: freddy, Annie, etc.... adviced to have armed guards at the ashram.
I am not sure if is true because this was said by southamericans coordinators Ricardo and Cristobal, who always had a big rivality against Freddy and the swedish....
what a band of "enlighteneds"....

And another thing, my experience in Latin america is that people there are not nearly as abusive with money when it comes to healing/spirituality as americans, at least that's what I've seen in Mexico.

Sad really, I sat through a teleconference Deeksha last night with my wife. The essence of a guided meditation is harmless. Reflective time is beneficial for people. A $15 paypal charge is not exhorbitant, but it should be noted that most traditional churches, temples, mosques, et al offer the EXACT same thing for free.

The Deeksha giver, a Swedish woman, sang beautifully and was only interrupted by fits of coughing periodically. I couldn't help imagining her in a tiny Stockholm apartment next to a cup of tea and plate of kippers.

Self-delusion is not restricted to any race or creed.

Iam a former "insider" of Cowgirl guru Lola Jones and her spiritual plagiarized version of Deeksha mixed with Law of Attraction she calls:Divine Openings. What takes 21 days in India you can magically do with her in just 5 days (but what there's more...) I can confirm not only the greed of the guru but also the desperation of those who are attracted to the 'too good to be true' offer. Even though I bit into the seductive juicy worm- I was able to slowly extricate the hook as I observed 'the talk' NOT match 'the walk' amongst many other things that i could not continue to discount. She is also very good at shutting down anyone that exposes or goes against her and keeps members mesmerized with her spiritual spin order to mitigate damages when key individuals/ insiders figure her out and LEAVE. There's nothing more sobering and humble than to admit you were duped (tha's what keeps you hooked), but when you can.. that is when your really free. Thank God for this blog and other websites that attempt to warn people of what's behind the shiny curtain. I always thought nay sayer's were just negative, unhappy, close minded people, but experience (always the best teacher) taught me there will always be greedy vampires when we bleed desperation and a little common sense can prevent you from being cut. PS please let me know if there are other sites that I can post warnings about LOLA JONES
