A Day In The Life Of Me Me

File under: Gurubusting and The Siddhi of PR

We've got to say it again: the folks who comment here rock! Over the last couple of years we've had one person who used to be very close to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. This person wishes to remain anonymous as they know full well the extent to which Sri Sri and his handlers will go to discredit and otherwise make uncomfortable those who dare to question his motives and divinity. We, on the other hand, love this stuff, so we'll share his latest exposure with you:
A midnight call to his "favs". "hmmmm? (in his high voice)" And then, who knows...... Little sleep for the little guy. And that makes sense -- his conscience should be bothering him with all the mischief he has caused others over the years. Strenous meetings with guests coming to ask him questions. Poor thing. Food brought by his worshiping minions. Travel first class on to the next place, welcomed in high style and housed in luxury. Poor guy! He must be so tired by now! Afternoon nap. More food brought by worshipping minions. Evening satsang. Sitting, swaying while others sing for some time. An hour talking (oh my, that was very tiring!!). Whisked away in comfort of a private car. Sit around and do the famous "gossip session", putting down with laughter anyone who doesn't believe in him, and some of those who do. (Have you not been in those sessions 5ri 5ri? tsk. Hope you are not fat or ugly or sincerely affectionate -- everything is up for grabs with good ole Sri Sri -- he'll make a joke at anyone's expense! And everyone just LOVES it!!! They gush with giggles and join in the bashing fun without any embarrassment at all! Lovely bunch really.) Retire to bed with or without company.
We're sure the girlie man's little minions are going to be all up in our face with the denials. Don't waste your time, folks. We've got our finger on the delete button and we're not afraid to use it.

"Retire to bed with or without somebody."

Can you elaborate more on this. Who does he sleep with, guys or gals? Is he not celibate? Thanks for sharing more info on this statement.

I think the issue is whether he sleeps with anyone, not whether they are guys or gals.

As much as I find Sri Sri to be an insufferable narcissist, who he spends time with in bed is his own business.

But if he's leading people to believe he's celibate when he's not, then the fact he's having sex should be all of our business. However, the gender of who he likes to sleep with will always be irrelevant from the regard of this blog.

Unless he's doing something abusive or illegal, of course.

I agree with what you wrote Jody, that it doesn't matter who Sri Sri sleeps with, you are right that is his business.

But the claim was brought up that he is sleeping with people. I find that interesting and want to know more, if he is claiming to be celibate, which is my image of him, and then we can say he is a hypocrite or not. Wanting more information on this issue.

Me too. We'll just have to wait and see in the commenting party wants to elaborate a bit more.

Hindu Gurus according to tradition should be exemplary. Private lives and private habits -- not a good defence. Hindu Guru is a public person.

Thers's an old sayin here in the Dime Box area:

"To serve a Guru will sometimes bring out the best in a man (or woman) but it will ALWAYS bring out the worse..."

Sometimes at the meetings of deacons of the DB First Baptist Church, on which committee I am, there is similar inappropriate banter among the spiritual high flyers. It's like the shit eating dog in us can't help but come out to be seen and smelt! What to do?

All I can do is these situations is to try to break wind without anybody knowing that it's me, get the folks wonderin who did it... This seems to change the atmosphere for the better sometimes!

I think it's about as likely that there are photos of She She getting a blow job as there are of Bush snorting a line of cocaine or avoiding military service in the danger zone. But I'm pretty sure you believe he did both. I know I am.

What bothers people around here is not if it's a man or woman giving She She the blow jobs, it's his posing in front to the world as a great spiritual bunny rabbit. He seems to me to be a weak little thing sitting on the shoulders of his foolish followers.

We've had enough of Spiritual Bullshit. Truth is much more simple. If he's such a great man of enlightenment, let him sit in one place without a camera on him, like Ramana Maharishi and change the world.

The quote is general enough, and doesn't need a "person who used to be very close to Sri Sri Ravi Shankar" to make the statement. After all, he says that Sri Sri leads a materially easy life (probably not a secret, and depends on what you call easy); he says that Sri Sri makes fun of people (can be explained away as ego-busting by the Guru, to harden over-sensitive people), and then implies (without any more evidence) that Sri Sri is not celibate. I am not a Sri Sri devotee, but I just found the discredit attempt pathetic.

Perhaps, but I'm not sure I'm down with the "ego-busting" angle. Or at least, it's one tremendous ego taking down those around him, which makes perfect sense.

....It's not always one gigantic ego taking down those around him. It may be that certainly, but it
may also be the guru responding to what is needed in the devotees case. Sometimes harsh
confrontation is needed which could include ridicule and personal put downs. Whatever it takes
to loosen the death grip of self-identification.
It's often difficult to tell from the outside exactly what is going on in student / teacher dynamics.

Or it could be an immature little boy who can only pretend to be a great big wizzard of a guru for so long at a time and must show his truer stripes from time to time. As Chuck said, "...the shit eating dog in us can't help but come out to be seen and smelt!" Perhaps this activity of Sri Sri's is the most authentic and honest that he is capable of. We wouldn't want to take that away from the little fellow, would we?

----Yes, it certainly could be that.
It could be damn near anything. My post
was meant to sort of round out the
perspectives of what could be possibly going
on when a guru shows up a certain way.

Well...........sorry agent 5ri 5ri......got no photos, got no files. Have only been the (more than one time) recipient of desparate phone calls from people (whose sex will go unmentioned to protect the unassailable right of SSRS to sleep with whatever sex he would like to) who were about to commit suicide because of statements made to them from SSRS about their having had sex with someone else (like their sadana was now over). Can I prove it? Nope. Can you disprove it? Nope. The guy is a genuine creep. You can laugh over it all you want. But I've seen him ruin lives and confronted him about it many times before leaving. If you show him this post, he will know who I am and you can tell him I would like an apology from him, in person, at his earliest convenience, and I would also be glad to convey his apologies to others who he hurt far worse than me.

I personally don't think it's even a little funny to have freaked out parents approach you about their kids (18 and up in the cases I am aware of, so, no Jody, I don't believe there was, at that time, any legal wrongdoing, just terrible confusion for these people as to what is a Guru, what the white robes actually mean, the claim -- implied or otherwise of celibacy....should one succumb to the advances of the Guru. Is it really "removing karma" if one does? etc.) begging you to get them off that ashram and back to their homes. And these people had NO idea what was really happening to their kids there -- they only assumed that they might not get married. Can I prove that they spoke to me that way? Nope. Can I prove that SSRS actually told people that he would destroy them if they left without his permission? Nope. Can I prove that he spread vicious rumors, all untrue, about those who dared to leave because of the various situations that arose? Nope. Can I prove that he did his best through his lies to trash respectable people in Bangalore with those tales? Nope. Did he succeed in his quest? Not in most cases. Is there a trail of emotional corpses in his wake of ugly behaviors? Yes. And some physical corpses as well. (Because of the superstitions of some people, the sudden live burning of one person in a puja was attributed to the "curse" that SSRS had put on the family for questioning his behavior...)

Can agent 5ri 5ri "prove" that Ravi Shankar is good and pure and lovely and a peacemaker. Nope. so it's just their perception, based on limited exposure (or brainwashing) to this nasty little man. And yes, I will continue to refer to him as "this nasty little man" until he apologizes.

He once demanded an apology from me. Said I had "insulted the Brahman" by leaving his ashram without his permission. I refused to give that apology, citing my belief that Brahman resides everywhere, including where I am, and so I would be apologizing to myself. Never heard from him again, except to hear tall tales about things that I never did.

The guy is whacko, bonkers, too far gone for words.

Personally? I'm scared of him. He uses the puja he has acquired through Grace to hurt others, imo. That's his choice, of course, but it will all, after some time, backfire onto him, if it has not already. Name and fame last only so long, then you are left with yourself and your bad conscience. That is what will happen to Ravi Shankar one day, if it is not happening in the wee hours after his "exhausting" schedule now.

At best he is a fallen Yogi. At worst, he is a scoundrel, an opportunist, an abuser of the human heart and spirit and even body. But God is just in the end. Even Gandhi said that evil can last only for so long...........

Good luck at your "sessions", whatever form they may take, but for God's sake, stop drinking the Kool Aid and wake up if you are wise.

Damn well said, sir! You speak as if out of a whirl wind or a pillar of fire! You have delivered your soul, as is said in the bible. Now agent_SheShe can make his/her own choice.

No, I am not drinking Kool Aid but out of curiosity, could the negative comments about Sri Sri be a result of not getting attention from him. Sour grapes syndrome perhaps?

How do you know that Sri Sri preens in front of the mirror? Just curious

Curious cat

I was the anonymous who said that the discredit attempt was pathetic. Admittedly, the further details provided by anonymous about the phone calls and his leaving, while not proof, provide material for thought.

Er, Anonymous -- you said....

"No, I am not drinking Kool Aid but out of curiosity, could the negative comments about Sri Sri be a result of not getting attention from him. Sour grapes syndrome perhaps?"

If I had not received (too much) attention from Ravi Shankar, how would I know all the things I've written about? They are not stories passed on to me.

I write these "negative" (factual) comments about Ravi Shankar in hopes of helping even one partially brainwashed (or even fully!) individual to walk away from him. It will save them lots of wasted time and money.

That's his favorite way of discrediting anything said about him, btw, by people who have left -- "they were just upset that I didn't give them enough attention". Don't even try.

You are more than just curious. You are trying to find out who I am. If you show various posts from this site about Ravi Shankar to him, he will know. Then please ask for my apology. I'm waiting, deservedly, for the same.

It may surprise you to know that I have not posted even 1/10th of what I could say about Ravi Shankar. This is because I don't think that some of it is any "fault" of his, but rather the way he was born. He can't help how he is. Also, I once loved him dearly, and followed him sincerely, in spite of his nasty character, being told, by him, to "doubt the doubt" when it arose frequently. Hard to believe (even today!) but it's so. I am not on a crusade to hurt him, but rather help people who have come across this site (by Grace of God, imo) to make a decision clearly about who they are listening to. I have no desire to hurt him, or I could have done so (in a very effective and humilating way for him) several years ago. But I choose not to and will not. I choose not to be cruel like him. I also value my life, and so will not come out openly with all that I know. So some of this is compassionate silence, born of a former love of this person, and some of it is self-preservation.

However, it seems to me that speaking out generally about his duplicity can be good for people to know. They can then decide if they want to follow him anymore.

And yeah, you are drinking the Kool Aid if you know anything about him and you are still hanging out there, dude.

It is absolutely amazing the unmitigated sh*t that people talk about SSRS. Did it ever occur to you that this stuff is made-up? I know SSRS quite well and have spent a lot of time with him. He is a very kind, gentle man; authentic, very natural. I have also seen people like "anonymous" around him who live inside their own fantasy world. Stressed to the gills and enraged that SSRS doesn't think that they are special.
